Cleaning the Hydrogen Stick |
|
The effectiveness of the stick will deteriorate sooner than its
six-month lifespan if it is not cleaned periodically. About once a
month the stick should be submerged in a bath of 1 part distilled white
vinegar and 4 parts water. Allow the stick to soak for about 30-minutes
and confirm the existence of bubbles on the stick (hydrogen gas).
Remove the stick and rinse thoroughly under running water. Return to
use.
Air-drying the stick or removing it from service frequently can reduce
its six-month lifespan due to increased oxidation. Sticks used in this
manner (business travelers for instance) may need to be cleaned more often.
